Privacy policy

Last updated September 9, 2026

PdfKit is a free PDF toolkit. When you pick a PDF, it is read in this browser. Merge, split, and compress stay on your device. We do not upload or store your files on a server, and we do not create accounts.

What stays on your device

Closing the tab discards those bytes from page memory. We never receive the contents of your documents, so there is no file inbox to access, export, or delete.

What leaves your device

Accounts, cookies, and analytics

PdfKit does not create accounts and does not need a login. Page views may be counted with Vercel Web Analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or ad networks. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising.

GDPR and CCPA

We do not collect the contents of your PDFs. If you are in the EEA, UK, or California, you can still ask about hosting logs. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted ads. Because files never reach our servers, there is no document archive to correct or delete on our side — closing the tab is the deletion.

Legal bases for the little we do process (page requests and optional analytics): operating the site, and legitimate interest in understanding which pages load. You can use a tracking-prevention browser if you prefer not to be counted.

Children

This tool is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children because we do not collect document contents or account data.

Limits we state in the product

Browser tabs have finite memory. Large scans, many pages, and “Smallest file” rebuilds can fail or freeze the tab. Those failures happen on your device. We reject files over 40 MB and cap a PDF at 200 pages to reduce that risk. Mobile browsers are stricter.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. Questions can be sent through the project repository if one is published. There is no inbound PDF inbox.
